Job Description:

Are you passionate about software development, automation, and solving real-world engineering challenges? Sierra Pacific Industries is offering a hands-on internship opportunity for aspiring Computer Engineers to work directly with our fabrication shop team in Anderson, California. This fast-paced role supports the development of innovative software and hardware solutions that enhance production efficiency and user experience. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain high-performance systems and interfaces that integrate with cutting-edge sensor technologies and automation tools.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with control and automation engineers to develop software solutions for production environments
  • Work with advanced sensor technologies that integrate them into production systems
  • Build and refine user interfaces to improve usability and operator experience
  • Conceptualize and prototype new software and hardware tools
  • Communicate professionally with end-users and technical teams
  • Travel to other locations as needed

Requirements:

  • College-level coursework or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity in C++, .Net, Python (Visual Studio experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL
  • Solid understanding of college-level mathematics, especially trigonometry
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills

Nice to have:

Exposure to AI technologies (e.g., Computer Vision, PyTorch), Django, and Microsoft WPF
