Job Description:

We are seeking an Engineer-in-Training to join our infrastructure and design services full-time in either our Seattle, WA or Denver, CO offices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work as part of a cross-office, cross-discipline team of designers and urban planners
  • Work with teams to create innovative civil engineering design solutions
  • Assist with preparation of plans, technical reports and construction specifications documents
  • Prepare calculations, quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates
  • Complete stormwater modeling and design
  • Provide construction administration support
  • Work closely with project managers

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • A NCEES designation of Engineer-in Training (EIT)
  • Software proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater modeling (WWHM, MGSFlood, EPA -SWMM etc), Word and Excel is required
  • Ability to work within a team, as well as self-motivated with a desire to expand your career
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites
  • You are an adaptable teammate who is willing to pitch in and help others
  • You have strong technical written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

  • master’s or progress toward a master’s a plus
  • Experience with preparing plans, specifications, estimate of probable costs and technical information reports a plus
  • Experience using MicroStation/OpenRoads is a plus

  • Conduct engineering calculations, including pump sizing, hydraulic modeling, thermal performance analysis, and air/gas system design

  • Design mechanical building systems, including HVAC, gas, plumbing, fire suppression, and air conveyance
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and integrated project delivery
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and assist with field inspections to verify compliance with design standards and codes
  • Incorporate energy-efficient solutions into mechanical system planning and participate in permit application processes as needed
