Job Description

This operating position is to support and maintain existing and future External Leak Detection Systems (ELDS) installed by Enbridge TIS PCSLD Leak Detection and owned by the Facilities & HCA LD Program. The Facilities & HCA LD Program works to mitigating the leak risk in facilities, remote sites, and high consequence areas that don’t meet internal risk targets by deploying ELDS. The program works with stakeholders such as LP Risk Management, Pipeline Integrity, and Facilities Integrity to identify priority locations and implement fit-for-purpose solutions. Current ELD systems include multiple installations of: EVTeam Hydrocarbon Sensing Cables, Hifi Engineering Fiber Optic Cable, and GE ThreatScan.

Job Responsibility

  • Support and maintain existing and future External Leak Detection Systems (ELDS)
  • Daily and weekly system performance monitoring and reporting of all the existing installed ELDS
  • ELDS troubleshooting (as needed)
  • Spare record maintenance
  • Annual ELDS performance testing support
  • Project support
  • Ensure annual testing reports are properly recorded and stored in Maximo/JIRA
  • Maintain PM procedures (revise when needed and re-distribute following the management of change processes)

Requirements

  • Engineering or technologist degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • EIT I, EIT II, or equivalent
  • Proficient in using Office Suite
  • knowledge of Power BI is an asset
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Primarily office-based role with the occasional need to travel
  • Ability to travel to the United States
  • The role is designed for regular business hours
