This contractor role provides intermediate to senior level pipeline system engineering support for Enbridge’s liquids pipeline and facility assets. The position focuses on operational troubleshooting, optimization, and technical assurance, while also contributing to the development and review of engineering deliverables for projects.
Job Responsibility:
Actively participate in scope development of pipeline and pipeline facility projects, including pump stations and storage terminals with valve manifolds, booster pumps, metering systems, and tanks
Complete and/or review feasibility studies, conceptual designs, process studies, and detailed engineering designs to ensure compliance with Enbridge’s quality processes, standards, and industry regulations
Review and provide technical direction in development of PFD, P&ID, control philosophies, operating limits, and associated engineering documents
Conduct technical reviews, with a focus on process engineering, at various stages in the project life-cycle gating process
Gather, review, and interpret operational data to drive technical recommendations
Use various tools, including hydraulic modelling software, to analyze pipeline systems for design and maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations
Maintain proficiency with the use of in-house and industry recognized process engineering tools
Participate and lead PHA reviews as needed
Liaise with multi-discipline teams to support company engineering initiatives
Provide contact engineering support and troubleshooting by participating in process engineering activities related to day-to-day system operations
Lead management of change for system operational changes and improvements
Requirements:
University degree in Engineering
Demonstrated Intermediate to Senior level technical competence in process design, hydraulics, and engineering within the oil & gas industry
7-years minimum of progressively complex process and hydraulics engineering experience
Must be registered as a P.Eng. in the Province of Alberta
Working knowledge of liquids pipeline and facility operations
Ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers
Strong ability to leverage operating data to support effective decision making
Detailed knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and standards
Effective two-way communication capability, including excellent oral and written skills
Well-developed problem solving, decision-making, organization and planning skills
