Engineer II position at The Ritz-Carlton in Turks & Caicos. Responsible for maintenance and engineering duties in a luxury hospitality setting. Includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and training team members. Adheres to company standards and safety policies.
Job Responsibility:
Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment
identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
assure each day’s activities and problems are communicated to other shifts
display proficiency in specific categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and carpentry
display knowledge in the safe use of hand and power tools
perform repairs or replacements for PVC copper pipes
troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical equipment, and cosmetic items
program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering duties
assist with surface preparation, painting, minor drywall, and wood trim repair
use the Lockout/Tagout system
display working knowledge of engineering computer programs
perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
train and mentor other engineers
perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
adhere to quality expectations
maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
welcome and assist all guests
ensure a clean and professional uniform and appearance
lift and move objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
perform other reasonable job duties as requested
Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background
experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
