Horseshoe Bay Resort is seeking an EPA Universal Certified HVAC Technician (Engineer II) to support the maintenance and engineering needs across the resort. The ideal candidate is a proficient, independent mechanic capable of handling a diverse, fast-paced workload, addressing critical guest room and resort amenity issues, and making sound, logical decisions to resolve problems promptly.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day maintenance and repair of all types of HVAC equipment, hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment (including lamps, AC units, switches, outlets) in guest rooms and public areas
Act as an independent mechanic to analyze maintenance problems, formulate rapid repair plans (including material procurement and scheduling), and minimize equipment downtime
Be available for emergencies to protect guests, associates, and preserve the building/systems, restoring normal operations quickly and responsibly
Perform routine and emergency repairs, including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing cosmetic items, and programming TVs
Monitor and possess a working knowledge of the Fire Alarm/Life Safety System, including fire sprinkler and emergency power systems, to effectively handle related emergencies
Maintain, clean, lubricate, and secure all departmental tools and equipment
Monitor the resort's energy and utilities usage, actively looking for and reporting opportunities for conservation to Engineering Management
Accurately read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters and gauges
Maintain a thorough daily log of activities and problems, ensuring clear communication across shifts
Work neatly, efficiently, and maintain clean work areas
Provide technical advice and on-the-job training to other engineers as requested to support staff development
Adhere to all departmental Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and continuously seek out and correct hazardous conditions to maintain a safe work environment for all
Follow all Resort rules and policies
Requirements:
EPA Universal Certification is mandatory
Above-average skills are required in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
Above-average skills are required in Electrical
Above-average skills are required in Mechanical
Above-average skills are required in Plumbing
Above-average skills are required in Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls
Above-average skills are required in Carpentry, Painting & Finish Skills

High School Certificate with an emphasis in Technical Trades
Ability to read and interpret complex safety documents (e.g., Lockout Tagout, MSDS), write routine reports and logs, and communicate clearly (verbally and written) in English with guests, associates, and management
Proven ability to work independently without direct supervision
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Daily routine involves walking, sitting, and ascending/descending stairs
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for insurance purposes
Must be flexible to work any shift (days, nights, weekends) as the resort operates 24/7
Must maintain professional composure and flexibility in high-stress, shifting-priority situations
