Job Description:

Our Facilities Engineers are responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work. Engineer I possess mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn building management skills. They complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis and participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Maintenance Manager and Director of Facilities

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work
  • Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis
  • Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms
  • Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Maintenance Manager and Director of Facilities
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting or working on equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner
  • Clean and organize maintenance shop and common areas
  • Pressure wash outdoor areas seasonally
  • Assist other team members with mechanical duties when required, including light carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, grounds maintenance, etc.
  • Assists with seasonal furnishings prep, storage and transport
  • Performs assignments as directed by the Facilities Administrator or Maintenance Manager
  • Reports any problems to the Maintenance Manager or Director of Facilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop, loading dock and recycling areas
  • Assists with glass and cardboard recycling
  • While on shift, respond as part of an initial response team to any early warning or major fire alarm
  • Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools
  • Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guests satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum formal education of a high school diploma
  • Minimum of one years job-related experience (e.g. building maintenance)
  • Experience in building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, refrigeration and carpentry skills preferred
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude, ability to read and follow instructions
  • General understanding of handyman skills, tools, fasteners, paint and plumbing
