The Maintenance and Facilities Engineer I is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs equipment engineering design evaluations. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Using their expertise, they will assist other areas.
Job Responsibility:
Provide technical assistance in installation validation and startup of facilities/production equipment modifications and capital projects
Develop and execute preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment failures
Ensures any preventative maintenance (PM) activities assigned to them are completed by the original due date or extended if that date cannot be achieved
Provide training support to the Maintenance group in regards to troubleshooting and new product/process or modification of an existing product/process
Provides Engineering support to the Manufacturing and Maintenance groups to fix, and improve/increase the performance of equipment and processes
Electrical – Solves problems with automation equipment through PLC (Allen Bradley and Siemens), Vision Systems (Cognex), servo, robotics (Densok), HMI/MMI, and related process control and automation systems
Develop and initiate advanced automated testing methodologies
Mechanical – Troubleshoots mechanical equipment associated with automation and manufacturing processes
Manages projects from inception to completion. Keeps Engineering and Manufacturing Management informed of progress
Installs, validates and put into production equipment modifications and capital projects
Performs hardware/software modifications, and documents system functional specification updates while adhering to documentation and change control requirements
Electrical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing automation and process control equipment
Mechanical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing mechanical equipment related to automation
Manages the cost estimating of medium scoped process improvements and medium capital budget items as well as the spending of approved project funds
Requirements:
B.S. in Engineering and 0 - 1 year related experience
Minimum of 1 - 3 years working experience in the field of Automation and Equipment Engineering
Automation experience with servo motors, pneumatics, robots, PLCs
Experience in the installation and qualification of new technology
Knowledge in local and international standards
Strong Project Management Skills
Be proficient in automated equipment troubleshooting techniques and preventive maintenance methodology
Have good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems
Can read and understand mechanical blueprints and electronic schematics
Need to be have strong problem-solving & analytical skills, as well as good knowledge in Cpk & statistics
Possess good leadership/presentation/communication/team building skills
Be self-motivated, hands on and a good team player
Have demonstrated your ability to design and implement effective systems, processes and information/reporting mechanisms
