The Engineer - HVAC is a specialist on the Engineering team responsible for the upkeep and operation of HVAC systems throughout the resort. The main areas include the guestrooms, public areas, grounds, meeting space. Food & Beverage outlets, back of the house areas, and retail locations. Duties include daily operational inspections, routine & preventive maintenance, and system evaluations. They will work closely with the department leadership to assess major repairs needed to HVAC systems. This individual must carry relevant certifications and have experience operating other equipment, including mechanical, electrical, life safety and electrical.
Job Responsibility:
Communicate with Director of Engineering regarding all aspects of engineering operations
Inspect and document physical plant, equipment, hazards, systems, and general engineering operation
Maintain work areas clean and organized
Report and resolve all unsafe conditions immediately
Complete other duties assigned by supervisor
Inspect and adjust all systems on a daily basis, respond to life system alarms
Maintain and repair air handlers, chillers, condenser, evaporator, ice machines, related HVAC equipment, washers, dryers, ironers, electrical components, switch gears, panels, pneumatic controls and components for VAV boxes, thermostats, compressors, valves and actuators, motor controls, etc.
Maintain and repair all food and beverage, laundry and back of house physical plant to include cosmetic and hard equipment to meet manufacturer’s specifications
Requirements:
High School diploma
At least 5 years of experience in full-service hotel or resort
Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
Strong technical skills in HVAC systems
Familiar with chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatments, pneumatics, control systems, water systems, boilers, refrigeration, compressors, etc.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and Engineering related software programs
Nice to have:
College and/or Building & Mechanical certifications are preferred
Universal CFC certification preferred
Additional certification in one or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems
Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions
