The Cybersecurity Engineer will help ensure that our software, systems and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. Performs technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk and re-mediate associated findings while helping T-Mobile teams and partners improve security. Works closely with other T-Mobile Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance our security posture, with a focus on building these methods through automation and AI.
Job Responsibility:
Develops and implements advanced security protocols and measures to protect digital infrastructure and sensitive data
Identifies and mitigates security vulnerabilities through regular system and network analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security needs and implement improvements
Ensures compliance with T-Mobile's cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements
Conducts security assessments and audits to evaluate existing security solutions and suggest improvements
Educates and trains staff on cybersecurity best practices and new security technologies
Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
Builds and operates the enterprise AI security platform that makes AI adoption safe and scalable
Owns integration, deployment, and day-2 operations of controls across SaaS AI, GenAI/LLM services, and internal platforms
Implements and tunes guardrails and policies (AI discovery/policy, Need-to-Know, Agentic and Prompt Security, cloud posture), connects telemetry to SIEM/SOAR and ITSM/CMDB, and automates approvals, exceptions, and evidence capture
Works closely with Data Protection, the Cybersecurity Architects, Legal/Privacy, Procurement/Vendor Risk, and engineering teams to meet SLAs and keep the environment audit-ready
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Information Technology
2-4 years Implementing and managing cybersecurity measures in a large-scale environment
2-4 years Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption
2-4 years Technical project management within cybersecurity frameworks
2-4 years in cybersecurity/platform engineering with hands-on deployment and operations of security controls at enterprise scale
1–3 years implementing or operating AI-adjacent controls (AI-SPM, LLM security, Shadow AI, Prompt security, etc)
Built or supported data classification/tagging and lineage for AI workflows, integrating with Varonis/Obsidian or equivalent DSPM/SSPM platforms
Integrated control telemetry and decisions into SIEM/SOAR and ticketing/CMDB
created dashboards for coverage, enforcement, SLA, and MTTR
Risk Management Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks in cybersecurity to protect organizational data and infrastructure
Technical Writing Ability to document cybersecurity processes, incidents, and protocols clearly and effectively for various audiences
Regulatory Compliance Deep understanding of cybersecurity laws and regulations to ensure the organization meets all compliance requirements
Collaboration Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity measures and response strategies
Problem Solving Strong analytical skills to solve complex cybersecurity issues and enhance system security
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
