The Engineer 2 uses code to create APIs and/or microservices to connect core platforms to experiences. An engineer is responsible for understanding business problems, designing, developing, configuring, testing, and deploying software to provide the solution. Engineers most often use Agile techniques and are a part of a larger, cross-functional team. Depending on the team, an engineer's responsibilities may be building pipelines, building test strategy, building cloud environments to be used in part of the development processes. The engineer's responsibility is to ensure the delivery of the software is high quality and automated as much as possible.
Job Responsibility:
Use code to create APIs and/or microservices to connect core platforms to experiences
Understand business problems, designing, developing, configuring, testing, and deploying software to provide the solution
Use Agile techniques
Build pipelines, building test strategy, building cloud environments
Ensure the delivery of the software is high quality and automated as much as possible
Utilize the software development lifecycle to implement technology solutions
Inspect, analyze, and translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical design, application code, and configuration parameters
Produce design specifications, including screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, and printed outputs
Convert technical design and specifications into functioning components
Provide technical on-call support
Create and execute unit tests
Analyze code to identify causes of errors and defects
Remediate known errors
Review application code for self and others
Define, support, and enforce code standards and guidelines
Estimate and size work
Continuously improve applications and processes
Cultivate relationships across roles and organizations
Provide peer coaching and feedback
Work autonomously, providing technical supervision to peers
Demonstrate appreciable business knowledge within the general financial services and marketing domains
Strive to influence the team to generate support to achieve desired business outcomes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
5+ years of work experience in related fields (Software Development Life Cycle across Full Stack, Frontend and Backend Development and UI / UX engineering)
Proficient in at least two and ideally three programming languages (e.g. COBOL, Java)
Develop or maintain at least three application
