Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and safety conscious Engine Dismantler Technicician to join our team. If you have a passion for automotive components, a keen eye for detail and hands on experience taking apart engines and transmission systems, this could be the perfect role for you. You'll play a vital part in our salvage operations, carefully extracting and cataloguing valuable components while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility. Job Responsibility

  • Safely remove and disassemble engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, and driveline assemblies from salvage vehicles
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to extract components without causing damage
  • Accurately document each component's details, including vehicle information, condition, and mileage
  • Identify and sort salvageable parts for refurbishment or resale
  • Organise and store dismantled components systematically for efficient retrieval
  • Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory records
  • Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Dispose of hazardous materials responsibly in line with environmental regulations
  • Working on a 3-week rota, 1 week depollution, 2 weeks engine dismantling

Requirements

  • Mechanical qualifications (preferably to level 2 or 3 in vehicle mechanics or similar) and/or equivalent experience
  • Solid experience disassembling, inspecting, and sorting powertrain components
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Problem-solving skills to tackle challenging dismantling scenarios
  • Effective time management to meet daily targets
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying vehicle types and inventory demands
  • Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills for inventory and workspace management
