Position Purpose: Under general supervision from the Metering Supervisor or other assigned supervisor, the Energy Monitoring Systems Technician will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical metering data collection systems.
Job Responsibility
Respond to service orders concerning customers, including equipment change-outs, device commissioning, and system troubleshooting
Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters, and remote data collection hardware, and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment
Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micro-management upon completion-follow up on any new opportunities
Communicate with customers, contractors, and co-workers, and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion
Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates, tenant surveys, and occasional meter reading
Partake in department workflow, stay aware of ongoing projects, and assist when necessary
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
An associate's or Bachelor's Degree in electronics, computer technician, or instrumentation is strongly preferred
At least two years of related field work experience or any equivalent combination of education and work experience
Demonstrates knowledge of programming, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of electronic and mechanical meters
Strong PC skills as well as demonstrated skills in reading sub-meter drawings, diagrams, and wiring layouts
Proven proficiency in Visio and AutoCAD
Ability to work collaboratively with customers and vendors, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Reliable team player
An organized self-starter, able to follow standard procedures, prioritize assignments, and address problems as they arise or seek appropriate help
