CNET (Centre for New Energy Technologies), the EDP Group’s Research & Development (R&D) center, is reinforcing its GEM R&D team through the recruitment of an Energy Systems R&D Engineer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participating/leading international Research and Development (R&D) projects primarily in the areas of Renewable Energy & Energy Storage & Energy Markets
  • Leading/contributing to various aspects of project implementation, including budget management, financial and technical reporting, interaction with stakeholders, communication of project progress and outcomes, etc.
  • Writing specifications and use cases, project reports and coordinate pilot activities
  • Developing and providing expertise in new solutions and tools on the topics of energy markets, energy storage and demand-side flexibility
  • Scouting R&D trends and technologies and realize their impact for EDP's business

Requirements:

  • Degree, Master or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering (preferably with majors / minors in Energy), Mechanical Engineering or Energy/Environmental Engineering or closely related academic areas provided curricula include topics on Energy
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Renewable Energy Technologies and strategies to integrate them on the electrical grid namely by exploiting flexible assets (e.g., energy storage technologies, demand-side response)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Energy Management and Energy Markets
  • Programming experience, preferably in Python
  • International mindset and excellent knowledge and use of English (in written and oral expression)
  • Good domain of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, Word, Power Point
