Our RGA R&D department intends to recruit an Energy Systems & Innovation Engineer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and deliver assigned R&D and consultancy project tasks, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery
  • Leading/contributing to various aspects of R&D project implementation, including budget management, financial and technical reporting, interaction with stakeholders and communication of project progress and outcomes
  • Writing specifications and use cases, project reports, defining systems architectures, conducting and developing laboratory and pilot validation in R&D projects
  • Leading/supporting the elaboration of business cases, development of techno-economic models and innovative business models for the technology-based concepts developed within the R&D and consultancy projects
  • Capacity to execute and deliver rigorous and well-balanced results in a timely manner, combined with flexibility and agility to work on various themes / projects
  • Developing and providing expertise in new solutions and tools (e.g. using python) for use in European projects, in international consultancy projects and for business units within the EDP group
  • Support the preparation and submission of proposals for international R&D funding (e.g., European programs), including consortium building and budget negotiation
  • Support for the development of the topics of Renewable Generation in the EDP group, namely in the domains of innovations in PV, Wind, Hydro, power systems, geothermal, among others
  • Contributing to international engineering consultancy projects and service provisions
  • Availability for short-term international trips (within the scope of the projects)
  • Immense motivation, strong desire to learn, curiosity and a taste for challenging ideas and proposing new solutions

Requirements:

  • Degree, Master or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering (preferably with majors / minors in Energy), Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Energy and Environmental Engineering or closely related academic areas provided curricula include topics on Energy
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Renewable Energy Technologies, namely PV and Wind Farms design and Operation and Maintenance (onshore/offshore), Hydropower, energy management solutions and emerging renewables (e.g. geothermal, agrivoltaics, etc)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in modern Power Systems and Energy Markets is also valuable
  • Programming experience, preferably in Python
  • International mindset and excellent knowledge and use of English (in written and oral expression)
