The Associate / Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting energy and infrastructure advisory assignments primarily in North America. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of financial advisory mandates including but not limited to the preparation of information materials, financial analysis, structuring, and day-to-day transaction management. Associates will work closely with a pool of peer associates and analysts. Further, the scope includes supporting VPs and Directors in coordination with senior bankers and other product groups, conducting research and analysis on key industry sub-sectors and business opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors in the U.S., performing financial analysis to optimize financial structures, and assessing transactions across a variety of business structures. Finally, the individual should have a positive, self-starter attitude with ability to work as part of a large project team and organization while leading creation of complex financial models and quantitative analyses, industry, and economic research and related presentations.
Job Responsibility:
Play a key role on deal teams supporting all aspects of financial advisory mandates including but not limited to coordinating with external advisors, managing transaction timelines, performing diligence, preparing presentation materials, and leading development of financial models and analysis
Supporting research, analysis, and preparation of discussion materials to proactively understand the goals and needs of clients and investors to originate new business
Provide transaction and origination support to senior bankers, client coverage teams, and build relationships with peers at clients and across bank products (e.g., M&A, DCM, etc.)
Lead and/or support analysts and associates in development of financial models, analysis, and assessment of transactions across a variety of capital, tax (including tax-equity), and business structures
Perform technical reviews of financial models and analysis to confirm integrity, consistency, arithmetical accuracy, etc.
Ensure compliance of all internal and external matters in accordance with banking regulations, policies and FINRA regulations
Perform other duties as required or assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related field and/or an equivalent work experience
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, commercial banking, consulting, or the finance industry
Ability to manage competing responsibilities and deadlines in a timely and efficient manner, while working under pressure
Results oriented, with high attention to detail and committed to producing high quality work products
Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal) and able take direction with limited oversight
Able to deliver clear, effective, oral and written communication and take responsibility for understanding others
Objective and a constructive problem solver, with capacity to accept responsibility
Positive attitude and takes initiative, with a demonstrable drive to learn, grow, and improve
Nice to have:
3+ years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, commercial banking, consulting, or the finance industry
Exposure to the energy and infrastructure sector and/or debt or equity transactions
Extensive experience in financial modeling, valuation, and analysis, preferably in a project finance setting and/or for tax equity transactions
Experience performing research and analysis on key industry sectors, analyzing financial statements, understanding legal, regulatory, and tax regimes, and synthesizing information
