Drive Exceptional Service and Best‑Value Procurement as Our Energy Procurement Manager. We’re looking for an experienced Energy Procurement Manager to join our Utilities team and play a key role in delivering best‑value procurement and exceptional service for our members across the AF Energy portfolios. Working closely with the Head of Data Analytics & Utilities Strategy, you’ll lead a team of five and help shape our procurement strategy, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive growth across our energy product areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong energy market knowledge, commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and support the Energy team to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end member journey, from procurement through to supply management and query resolution
Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to secure competitive pricing and excellent service
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow member commitment and volume
Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and performance reporting
Monitor energy markets, pricing trends, and regulatory changes, ensuring the team stays informed
Develop new and existing product areas and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Ensure accurate implementation of processes, procedures, and reporting
Communicate procurement strategies effectively to internal teams and members
Support cross‑selling opportunities with other Procurement Managers
Attend industry events and support wider business needs during peak periods
Requirements:
Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
Skilled in data analysis with the ability to interpret complex information
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
Proven experience in the energy sector and/or energy procurement
Line management experience with a coaching leadership style
Experience managing budgets
Confident presenting to internal and external stakeholders
Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office
Nice to have:
CIPS qualification
Customer service training or qualification
Understanding of the agricultural industry
Familiarity with Ofgem rules and regulations
