Job Description

We are looking for a Market Operations Manager - Portfolio Management - to monitor, review, and advise Energy Management staff on market integration, strategic market input, and enhancement strategies across the ECM portfolio and ISO structures. The Market Operations Manager - Portfolio Management - will also collaborate with risk, back office, front office, and EGP cross-functional teams on changes and impacts to ISO/RTO market structures.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Head of Portfolio Management in monitoring and assessing changes in market-related protocols and regulations, while also leading internal advocacy efforts and providing strategic direction
  • Identify new business opportunities, product offerings, and operational changes within ISO/RTO markets
  • Maintain expert knowledge of ISO/RTO market rules, base tariffs, and provide market intelligence relevant to Enel generation portfolio
  • Engage in routine discussions with front office regarding ISO/RTO bidding, scheduling, FTR management, virtual bidding, capacity auctions, and broader market strategies
  • Serve as primary point of contact for ISO/RTO and Public Utility Commissions on market inquiries, registrations, and general market practices
  • Deploy and oversee new or significant ISO/RTO initiatives into ECM and EGP market operations
  • Oversee the ISO/RTO Digital Certificates for market access, ISO/RTO annual certifications, and miscellaneous market operations filings
  • Analyze PPA and other market-based agreements for asset, revenue, and financial optimization
  • Lead registration efforts for new and existing generation assets, as well as renewable energy certificates and generation pathways
  • Lead or support technical projects that automate and enhance surveillance of market protocol compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years’ experience in regulatory work on ISO/RTO markets focused mainly on ISO/RTO products and its market rules and tariffs
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and work in an international team environment and cross functional support
  • Ability to establish and maintain links with Regulators, ISOs and Market Operations staff of external market participants

Nice to have

Python, R, SQL, and/or Git programming experience a plus
