Job Description:

Energy Implementation Manager role at Climeworks, a leading carbon removal provider. The mission is to drive project profitability by identifying low-cost, low-carbon energy solutions, evaluating sites, forecasting energy costs, supporting project managers, and applying carbon accounting knowledge.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive the profitability of Climeworks’ Direct Air Capture and Storage projects by identifying location-specific, low-cost, low-carbon energy supply solutions
  • Find and evaluate brownfield site opportunities for Climeworks’ DAC with excess steam availability, access to low-carbon electricity, and proximity to CO₂ transport and storage infrastructure
  • Provide risk-aware energy price estimates and forecasts for power, heat, and fuel for Climeworks projects across global markets
  • Support and guide project managers on energy topics to ensure informed decision-making throughout project development
  • Apply knowledge of carbon accounting for energy to optimize the carbon intensity of energy solutions for DAC applications

Requirements:

  • University degree in engineering with a focus on energy
  • Over three years of experience in energy solutions, energy technology, or operations engineering at an industrial site
  • Strong grasp of thermal energy systems and energy storage technologies
  • Familiarity with thermal generation (steam, high-grade heat), combined heat and power applications, or other heat-generating industrial processes
  • Experience with CO₂ capture and storage applications (ideally)
  • Diversified view on energy markets, including trends and dependencies in global and regional energy pricing
  • Strategic, holistic, and entrepreneurial problem solver
  • Adaptable and thrives in fast-paced, evolving contexts
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
