Job Description:

The city of Lawrence seeks an Energy Advocate to support energy affordability and promote healthy homes for residents and small businesses. This grant-funded, non-union position focuses on helping the community reduce utility costs and improve indoor comfort by connecting residents and businesses with local, state, and federal energy efficiency programs, including Mass Save.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct community outreach with a focus on renters, landlords, small businesses, and non-English-speaking households
  • Host information sessions
  • Attend community events
  • Promote available programs through media and outreach materials
  • Guide residents and business owners through enrollment in energy efficiency services
  • Build partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, faith organizations, tenant and landlord groups, and business associations
  • Track outreach activities and referrals
  • Assist customers through the process
  • Coordinate volunteers or interns
  • Participate in statewide training and collaboration through the Community First Partnership

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
