Job Description

The Endo Tech (3) is the most experienced endoscopy technician. It is expected that the Endo Tech (3) will meet the performance standards within the three month probationary period. A Skills Checklist must be completed prior to the three month evaluation.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessory equipment
  • Set up procedure rooms
  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and technical equipment

Requirements

  • High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper
  • Basic Life Support license/certification
  • 1 year of experience working as a Nursing Care Technician, Medical/Surgical Assistance or Central Service Technician/Clinical Partner
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working as a Tech 2 for more than 6 months
  • Endoscopy procedure experience required

Nice to have

CNA certification preferred

  • Prepare endoscopy room
  • set up scopes, monitors, and light sources
  • Gather supplies and check that equipment is working properly
  • Positions patient to give best exposure for endoscopic procedure, using stabilization equipment, when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety
  • Assist physician during procedure
  • passing equipment, managing suction, irrigation, and specimen collection
  • Maintain scope cleaning and disinfection if applicable
  • Follow strict infection control guidelines
  • Participate in emergency resuscitation and stabilization as needed
