Endoscopy Team Leader

• Management of the unit and leading the unit in the absence of the Lead Nurse
• Daily management of the unit, including staffing, supporting staff attendance
• Budgetary responsibilities for stock items, attending meetings, dealing with incidents and complaints
• Working alongside our JAG and Clinical Education Leads to ensure that our unit and staff are performing to high standards
• Cover the on-call service that will be over and above the contracted hours to ensure 24/7 emergency cover

• Knowledge and understanding of current health care issues
• Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements
• Knowledge of local/professional policies and procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of resource management
• Computer literate
• 1st level registered nurse / HCPC registered practitioner
• Mentor preparation qualification or equivalent
• Highly effective interpersonal/communication skills
• Organisational skills to reflect departmental standards and effective skill mix
• Ability to develop staff through performance review and clinical supervision
• Demonstrate ability to develop and implement change initiatives
• Demonstrate the ability to gain commitment from others
• Leadership skills
• Highly effective decision making skills
• Significant experience at Band 5 or equivalent
• Willingness to do a management qualification or equivalent experience
• Clinical experience in an Endoscopy setting
• Experience of standard setting, quality initiatives and audit

• Research and development awareness
• Knowledge of JAG for Endoscopy
• Awareness of BSG guidelines
• Knowledge of quality, audit and its application
• Knowledge of current health care issues

• Endoscopy experience
• First line management
