Job Description

As an EMS supervisor at Good Samaritan Hospital, you will have oversight of the day to day activities of the EMS operations and team members. You will provide management support to plan, organize and lead resources with assigned team members; as well as functioning as an individual contributor within the department. You will participate in operationalizing CHI Health Strategic Initiatives and serve as a role model for ethical management behavior and promote an understandinf of positive, ethical, and moral principles consistent with the mission and values of CHI Health.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversight of the day to day activities of the EMS operations and team members
  • Provide management support to plan, organize and lead resources with assigned team members
  • Function as an individual contributor within the department
  • Participate in operationalizing CHI Health Strategic Initiatives
  • Serve as a role model for ethical management behavior
  • Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations
  • Assigns day-to-day work activities
  • Directs the functional and technical job performance of team members
  • Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and department needs
  • Manages performance including: Setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback and recognition, developing skills and addressing performance issues
  • Oversees quality of patient care to assure delivery of individualized nursing care
  • Reviews and follows up on incident reports
  • Oversees patient care delivery to maximize patient/family satisfaction and minimize risk of injury or negative outcomes
  • Directs staff during emergency situations
  • Acts as an advocate for patients and family members
  • Acts as a resource for staff.

Requirements

  • Associates degree plus one year of direct experience in the paramedic field
  • 3 years of experience in the paramedic field
  • EMT-P (EMT-Paramedic) in the state of Nebraska
  • BLS or BLS instructor(Basic Life Support) certification through American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 6 months of hire
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 6 months of hire
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6 months of hire.

  • Performs supervisory, administrative, and managerial work in direct support of the daily operations of Pafford Emergency Medical Services in assigned region
  • Assists operations manager with staffing and deployment matters, including but not limited to, shift swaps, callouts, vacation requests, etc
  • Authors’ investigative briefs for all matters of related to employee injury, vehicle collisions, unusual occurrences and disciplinary matters
  • Coordinates the delivery of exceptional emergency medical service treatment and care
  • Maintains direct oversight and responsibility for the day-to-day operational functions of the emergency service program including but not limited to the maintenance of the vehicle fleet, clinical compliance, quality assurance & improvement, staff scheduling, deployment, payroll, logistics and supply ordering
