Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer - Advocacy to manage tribunal cases and represent employer clients at hearings. We are looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer - Advocacy to join our specialist tribunal team, supporting employer clients through employment tribunal proceedings and delivering high-quality advocacy and litigation support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage tribunal cases and represent employer clients at hearings
  • Provide high-quality employment tribunal advocacy and litigation support
  • Manage an existing caseload of tribunal claims
  • Represent respondents at both preliminary and full merits hearings, remotely and in person
  • Work closely with Employment Law advice teams and wider WorkNest colleagues
  • Deliver a consistent and high-quality service to clients
  • Take a pragmatic and commercial approach to case management
  • Ensure clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the tribunal process
  • Maintain the highest professional standards
  • Occasional travel across the UK to attend employment tribunal hearings in person

Requirements:

  • Significant recent experience providing employment tribunal advocacy (ideally with least five years’ experience)
  • Confident representing respondents at both preliminary and full merits hearings
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable managing complex caseloads independently and proactively
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet strict tribunal deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Confident working both autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Maintaining a professional and pragmatic approach at all times

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within an Employment Law or HR consultancy environment
  • Holding a law degree, CIPD qualification, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience delivering training or webinars
