Job Description:

CWJC seeks a staff attorney to work on employment law matters. The attorney will be based in CWJC’s Worcester office.

Job Responsibility:

  • Focus on handling unemployment cases
  • Handle cases involving wage and hour issues, leave issues, and employment discrimination
  • Represent individual clients
  • Engage in community outreach and education
  • Work closely with community partners

Requirements:

  • Recent law school graduates and more experienced attorneys are encouraged to apply
  • Third year law students are also eligible to apply, but preference will be given to a licensed attorney who can start sooner
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and oral) strongly preferred
  • Experience in poverty or employment law strongly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated dedication to social justice and commitment to working with low-income communities
