Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Employment Counsel to support our client on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess broad knowledge of U.S. employment law and be adept at advising on a range of HR-related matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide legal guidance and support to HR business partners, offering advice on employee relations, terminations, and leave-related inquiries
  • Assist in identifying potential legal issues by analyzing scenarios and assessing risks
  • Offer coaching on basic HR decisions, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate on the development and revision of processes and procedures to align with legal standards
  • Provide insights and recommendations on employment discrimination matters
  • Stay updated on changes to U.S. employment law to provide accurate and timely advice

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. employment law, including regulations surrounding employee relations and leave policies
  • Demonstrated ability to spot legal issues and provide actionable recommendations
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coach HR teams and other stakeholders
  • Proven experience in advising on employment discrimination matters
  • Capacity to develop and revise organizational processes and procedures
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in the United States
