Job Description:

Hello Neighbor is seeking an Employment Case Aide who will support participants in the Matching Grant (MG) Program & RSS Program plus other programming with the Employment Department. The Employment Department assists qualifying refugee and immigrant individuals and families to achieve early economic self-sufficiency through employment. The Employment Case Aide will assist the Employment Coordinators & Case Managers in providing employment counseling and other supportive services to a caseload of ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement)-eligible individuals and families, including refugees, asylees, and other qualifying populations. They will also work directly with the Employment Director to ensure Quality Assurance is met. This role reports to the Employment Supervisor and will collaborate with/be supported by other Employment Department staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supports employable adults enrolled in the Matching Program & RSS Program to obtain and maintain gainful employment and achieve economic self-sufficiency within the 180 to 240 day Matching Grant (MG) period
  • and/or the 5 year RSS program. As well as supporting other Hello Neighbor Employment Programs. Emp Case Aide assists with resume development, job applications, job readiness, interview preparation, onboarding support, employer and client follow up, household budgeting support, and more
  • Assists the Employment Case Managers with providing case management services to all household members of families enrolled in the Matching Grant program, with emphasis on overcoming barriers to employment and assisting families to develop self sufficiency
  • Completes administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, such as preparing intake paperwork, entering data in the employment database, entering case notes, and maintaining physical and digital client files
  • Provides ongoing coaching to clients to ensure ownership of employment goals
  • Assists clients to schedule and navigate a variety of appointments in the community, including but not limited to, job interviews, applications for documents or public assistance, medical appointments, school enrollments, and immigration appointments
  • Assists clients with transportation needs, including driving clients to/from appointments, arranging volunteer transportation, coordinating rideshares, and supporting public transit orientation and usage
  • Provides timely, detailed case notes for all employment and case management services provided
  • Arranges for and uses interpretation and translation services to ensure effective communication with clients
  • Rotating participation at Office Hours (evening drop-in hours)
  • Participates in regular supervision meetings and relevant staff meetings
  • Adheres to Hello Neighbor’s confidentiality guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred
  • Previous relevant work experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with refugee and immigrant communities
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, characterized by compassionate, courteous, cordial, and professional interactions with diverse colleagues, program members, and the community
  • Possesses cultural competencies, encompassing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors relevant to the communities served
  • Thorough understanding of issues pertinent to refugees and immigrants
  • Able to cultivate excellent relationships with clients, staff, and partners
  • Exhibits adept task management, including priority setting, meeting deadlines, and efficient time scheduling for multiple responsibilities
  • Digital literacy and the ability to learn new software
  • Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
  • Effective collaboration with others through cooperative efforts
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

  • Personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance
  • Required clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance (PA Act 23 & Act 24)
  • Mandatory Reporter and/or PSEA training may also be required depending on job requirements
  • The successful candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have:

  • Language ability is a plus, especially in common client languages including: Dari, Arabic, French, Swahili, Spanish, Haitian Kreyol and others
  • Lived migration experience and fluency in other languages a plus
