We are looking for a skilled Employment Attorney to join our team in San Francisco, California. This role requires a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with substantial experience in employment law, particularly in providing advice, counseling, and litigation support. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Labor and Employment Law Group while also collaborating with other practice areas as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Provide comprehensive legal advice and counseling on employment law matters, including terminations, leaves of absence, investigations, and wage practices
Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including defense-side cases and wage and hour disputes
Draft, review, and update employment policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity
Manage multiple legal projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing deadlines effectively
Collaborate with clients to develop strategic solutions to complex employment law issues
Participate in depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings as required
Support pro-bono initiatives and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the firm's guidelines
Work closely with other practice groups to address cross-disciplinary legal matters
Maintain a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually, with eligible pro-bono and DEI work counting toward this target
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in California
A minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law counseling and/or litigation, preferably on the defense side
Demonstrated experience in wage and hour litigation, traditional labor law, and employment policy drafting
Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills
Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
Proficiency in legal tools and software, including Adobe Acrobat and document management systems
Experience conducting depositions and preparing legal briefs and motions
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
