We are looking for an Employment Associate Attorney to join a collaborative legal team in Sacramento, California. Job Responsibility
Represent employers in employment-related disputes across various stages of litigation, from initial case strategy through resolution
Prepare persuasive motions, legal briefs, and other court filings that support effective case development
Take and defend depositions, gathering testimony and building factual records for hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation
Advocate for clients during arbitration and mediation proceedings, working toward practical and strategic outcomes
Manage employment litigation matters involving public sector environments and related legal considerations
Conduct legal research, evaluate claims and defenses, and provide clear recommendations on case direction and risk
Collaborate closely with colleagues in a hybrid setting while contributing to an engaged, collaborative team culture
Requirements
Licensed attorney in good standing and authorized to practice law
At least 3 years of experience in employment law or employment litigation, with stronger consideration for candidates with 4 to 8 years of relevant practice
Demonstrated background in civil litigation, including hands-on responsibility for case management and dispute resolution
Experience drafting motions and other substantive litigation documents with a high degree of accuracy and judgment
Proven ability to conduct depositions effectively and use testimony to support overall case strategy
Familiarity with arbitration and mediation processes in employment-related matters
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work productively in a hybrid, team-oriented environment
