Job Description

The ER Case Lead plays a pivotal role in managing complex and high-risk employee relations cases across the UK&I region. This is a fixed term contract until Spring 2027. The role ensures fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution of cases while supporting the business in navigating sensitive employee matters. It also contributes to policy development, stakeholder engagement, and proactive risk mitigation.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, long-term sickness, and conduct matters
  • Ensure all casework is accurately documented, legally compliant, and resolved in a timely and fair manner
  • Manage flexible working requests, changes to terms and conditions, and exit processes
  • Support the delivery of formal processes including redundancy consultations and TUPE transfers
  • Provide expert guidance to line managers and HR Business Partners on employment law and ER best practices
  • Coach stakeholders on conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and procedural fairness
  • Escalate cases appropriately while maintaining ownership of resolution pathways
  • Contribute to the design and refresh of ER policies and toolkits
  • Support investigations, whistleblowing cases, and Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
  • Identify ER trends and recommend proactive interventions to mitigate risk
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Reward, and other Centres of Excellence to ensure aligned ER practices
  • Liaise with internal business stakeholders to support commercial decisions with people impact
  • Act as a trusted advisor in restructuring, M&A, and organisational change initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing complex ER cases in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR policy frameworks
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Legal and Compliance.
