The Employee Relations Advisor plays a key role in supporting our people and ensuring our workplace remains fair, safe, and compliant. You will provide operational advice to managers and employees across a broad range of industrial and employee relations matters. This includes interpreting enterprise agreements and awards, responding to workplace claims, supporting investigations, and ensuring compliance with legislation, case law, and internal policies. In this role, you will also help shape policy development, contribute to enterprise agreement processes, support training and capability building, and maintain relationships with unions and external bodies. Every day, you will help ensure our people are supported, our practices are fair, and our organisation continues to do work that matters.
Job Responsibility:
Provide operational advice to managers and employees across a broad range of industrial and employee relations matters
Interpreting enterprise agreements and awards
Responding to workplace claims
Supporting investigations
Ensuring compliance with legislation, case law, and internal policies
Help shape policy development
Contribute to enterprise agreement processes
Support training and capability building
Maintain relationships with unions and external bodies
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in human resources or equivalent (for example industrial relations or law) with at least 5 years’ experience in a HR or ER role
In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR policies and practices.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with managers, resolve issues and influence outcomes related to employee relation matters
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyze employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions.
Ability to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders
Sound understanding of relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
Current NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel to Warrigal’s other locations as required
Experience managing union and union delegate relationships
Nice to have:
Knowledge of aged care industry
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher)
