We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about supporting people and helping managers navigate employee relations with care, fairness and confidence. As an Employee Relations Advisor at Travelodge, you’ll help sustain a culture of line management ownership, facilitating a pragmatic, best practice and human approach to ER. You’ll be responsible for driving and supporting the timely conclusion of both low and high complexity ER matters. You’ll be part of a supportive central ER team, working together on a wide range of cases, from day-to-day matters to more complex situations.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a variety of ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, whistleblowing, serious incidents, absence and performance management, and post-employment complaints
Manage complex matters such as ACAS and Employment Tribunal claims
Coach and support managers to build their confidence in handling people issues
Guide People Services team on lower-level ER activity
Keep records and reports up to date
Spot trends and share insights to improve colleague support
Contribute to wider HR projects, policy development and training programmes
Contribute to initiatives driving commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
Requirements:
Proven experience handling ACAS processes and employment tribunal claims
Experience working directly with solicitors
Experience applying employment legislation such as the Employment Rights Act and Equality Act in practice
Confidence making autonomous decisions on sensitive matters
Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially-minded advice
Ability to constructively challenge stakeholders
Attention to detail
Strong written communication skills
