Job Description

Accountability for the delivery of a cohesive and comprehensive referral strategy to generate starts for Apprenticeships. Establish and create referral pathways from employers and key stakeholder organisations. Working with such partners to promote the full range of TTP Apprenticeship services. Ensure a coordinated approach with operational delivery and provide management information on the impact of start generation approaches.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver and facilitate coaching, training, and learning activities that follow agreed learner journeys and support individuals to develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and confidence required to gain and sustain employment
  • Support learners to develop essential employability skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, digital skills, job search techniques, interview preparation, and workplace professionalism
  • Deliver and support English, maths, and digital skills development where required, signposting learners to specialist support where appropriate
  • Complete learner reviews, progress meetings, and workplace visits in line with organisational, quality, and funding requirements
  • Work closely with employers, line managers, and workplace mentors to ensure learners receive the support and opportunities needed to achieve their development goals
  • Coach learners to gather and present evidence of learning, competence, and achievement, supporting progression towards qualifications, apprenticeships, or employment outcomes
  • Monitor learner engagement, attendance, wellbeing, and progression, taking proactive action to overcome barriers to learning and reduce withdrawals
  • Deliver enrichment activities that promote safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, equality, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, resilience, and personal development
  • Support learners with career planning, progression opportunities, job applications, CV development, interview preparation, and transition into employment or further learning
  • Maintain accurate learner records and complete all administrative requirements within agreed timescales, ensuring compliance with organisational and funding requirements
  • Keep up to date with labour market information, employability trends, employer expectations, and best practice through continuous professional development
  • Research local and national employment opportunities, sector developments, and skills demands to ensure coaching and training remain relevant and responsive to employer needs
  • Evaluate and continuously improve coaching delivery based on learner feedback, stakeholder feedback, observations, audits, and quality assurance processes
  • Promote safe working practices and monitor learner welfare, safeguarding concerns, and health and safety issues, taking appropriate action where required
  • Provide effective Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to learners, employers, and other stakeholders to support informed decision-making and progression
  • Promote the organisation and its services positively with employers, referral agencies, training providers, community organisations, and other external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with employers and partners to identify opportunities for work experience, employment, apprenticeships, and learner progression
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as reasonably requested by management

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Employability, Learning and Development, Advice and Guidance, Education, Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related subject, or equivalent occupational experience
  • Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching, Assessing, or Learning and Development qualification (or willingness to work towards), such as TAQA, CAVA, AET, or equivalent
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting individuals within employability, education, apprenticeships, recruitment, welfare-to-work, youth services, or a related environment
  • Proven experience of supporting individuals to develop skills, overcome barriers, achieve goals, and progress into employment, apprenticeships, or further learning
  • Knowledge and understanding of employability programmes, apprenticeship standards, work-based learning, and career development practices
  • Understanding of learner-centred coaching techniques, target setting, action planning, progress reviews, and evidence collection
  • Knowledge of government-funded training programmes, employability initiatives, apprenticeships, or adult learning provision
  • Good understanding of labour market information, employer expectations, recruitment processes, and current employment trends
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT and digital skills, including Microsoft Office applications, learner management systems, e-portfolios, and online learning platforms
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise workloads effectively, and work to agreed performance targets and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a remote or office-based team
  • Strong motivational and coaching skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and supporting positive learner outcomes
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (where travel is required as part of the role). (Optional depending on the position.)
