The Emergency/Urgent Care Physician will provide patient care at both South Shore Hospital and at South Shore Health ambulatory Urgent Care locations. The Physician’s primary responsibility is for the assessment, evaluation and therapeutic interventions on those patients.

Interacts with members of the Emergency Care Team
Involves the patient and family to explain diagnoses, plan of care, and outcomes
Fosters family care
Assures appropriate discharge plan
Maintains confidentiality
Interacts with other SSH&EC departments to facilitate patient care and flow
Member of the SSH&EC Medical Staff and participates in committees and task forces
Active role in education of SSH Emergency Services staff
Participates in quality improvement programs and outcomes projects
Implements approved Emergency Department Patient Outcome Plans
Complies with point-of-care testing requirements
Requirements:
Medical School Graduate
Graduate of an accredited Emergency Residency Medicine Program
MD - Physicians/Hospitalist license
Demonstrated history of proficiency in the delivery of emergency medical care to patients of all ages
Demonstrated history as a strong member of an Emergency Care Team
Successful completion of SSH Credentialing Process
Complete FMSCA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) certification within 6 months of hire
