As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician. Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.
Job Responsibility:
Support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician
Conduct selected diagnostics and procedures
Assist with patient transport and lifting
Provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit
Effectively execute delegated tasks
Support unit operations
Contribute to a safe and efficient environment
Provide direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff
Monitor and record vital signs
Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition and report any changes to the nursing or medical staff
Provide indirect patient care
Escort patient to the exam room
Perform and document general therapeutic/diagnostic measures
Act as transporter
Assist with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager (EDTB)
Act as unit clerk
Utilize hospital information systems according to the hospital policy
Discharge patients and enter charges for patients in a timely matter
Utilize the EDTB to improve patient flow
Perform order data entry as assigned by the nurse or physician
Communicate with patients, family, physicians, other departments, unit personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous and professional manner
Demonstrate a commitment to patients, nursing staff, and Emergency Department in accordance with the team performance expectations
Requirements:
High School GED General Studies, upon hire
High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
