Emergency Room Technician

• support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician
• conduct selected diagnostics and procedures
• assist with patient transport and lifting
• provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit
• effectively execute delegated tasks
• support unit operations
• contribute to a safe and efficient environment
• assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice
• demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques
• assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs
• responds appropriately to emergency situations
• assists with patient transport and transfer
• assists with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
• adheres to safety and risk management standards

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
• High School GED General Studies, upon hire
• completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program OR Medical Assistant program OR Certified Nursing Assistant Program, OR Licensed Practical Nurse program OR completion of one year of nursing school, upon hire
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire OR Licensed Practical Nurse: WA, upon hire OR Medical Assistant Certification: WA, upon hire OR Registered Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
• Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA, within 6 - months
