Job Responsibility

Support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician
Conduct selected diagnostics and procedures
Assist with patient transport and lifting
Provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit
Assist in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice
Demonstrate competency in delivery of care and clinical techniques including Basic Airway Management, CPR, Vital signs, Electrocardiogram, Point of care testing, Wound care including suture set-up, Assisting with eye and ear irrigation, Orthopedic splinting, Visual acuity, Suture/staple removal, Assisting with gastric lavage, Assisting with activities of daily living, Peak flow, Breath alcohol, Assists with removal of peripheral IV and urinary catheters, Conduct clinical activities requiring Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy certification
Assist in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs
Respond appropriately to emergency situations
Assist with patient transport and transfer
Assist with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
