Job Description:

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Compliance team by coordinating all aspects of emergency response procedures and systems for our Mine. Your primary focus will be to ensure these processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements. Your key responsibility will be to maintain and enhance safety and compliance standards across all emergency response activities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinating the Mines Rescue teams to ensure compliance with minimum legislated manning levels and competencies
  • Fulfilling the statutory obligations of the Fire Officer for the site
  • Managing all First Aid, Mines Rescue, and Firefighting equipment, ensuring that training, maintenance, and inspections are carried out as per legal requirements
  • Recording and reporting on the status of site emergency equipment and overall emergency preparedness
  • Organising and delivering emergency response training for site personnel, including the proper use of associated equipment
  • Providing specialist advice on emergency response for both underground and surface operations

Requirements:

  • Extensive underground mining experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Fire Officer certification and valid First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in Mines Rescue operations
  • Strong commitment to safety and excellent relationship-building skills
