Job Description

As a Telehealth Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will provide remote assessment, urgent treatment, and senior clinical decision-making for a broad range of emergency presentations. Shift Pattern: 22:00–06:00 UK time (aligned with daytime hours in Australia). Flexible sessional patterns available. This role is ideal for Consultants wishing to maintain active Australian clinical practice while enjoying the personal and professional benefits of living in the UK.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver senior-led assessment and management of emergency patients via a fully digital telehealth platform
  • Provide timely clinical decision-making, escalation advice, and remote care planning
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to Australian clinical governance standards
  • Uphold patient safety, professionalism, and high-quality virtual emergency care at all times
  • Contribute to service development through feedback, audits, and participation in ongoing quality improvement

Requirements

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM)
  • Current AHPRA registration (including Australian Prescriber Number)
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Minimum 1 year of NHS experience
  • Up-to-date UK CPD documentation
  • Two recent professional references
  • Suitable home workspace and reliable broadband connection

Nice to have

  • Previous clinical experience in Australian Emergency Departments
  • Strong communication and remote decision-making skills
  • Experience in virtual or telehealth medicine
