Job Description

Site Medical Director role for an Emergency Department with a volume of 29,000, 11 ED beds, and 13% admission rate. Staffing includes physicians 24 hours per day and APPs 22 hours per day. EHR is Meditech. Strong specialty support available.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the Emergency Department
  • Manage the quality improvement plan, including attending regular meetings, and review of medical records
  • Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
  • Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians
  • Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership

Requirements

  • BC in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
  • Active Florida medical license and DEA
  • 24 hours Stroke CME annually
  • ACLS, PALS
  • Previous experience as a medical director or assistant medical director preferred, but not required
