Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
The Program Director must possess the required specialty expertise, as well as documented educational and administrative abilities, to carry out the responsibilities of the role and to achieve the goals and objectives of the program
Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
Demonstrate clinical competency as a practicing emergency physician
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director) in the most recent three years
Demonstrated scholarly activity consistent with ACGME requirements (e.g., publications, presentations, or quality improvement work)
Schedule: 50% clinical time (including night and weekend shifts) and 50% protected GME administrative time
Eligible for and able to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Colorado prior to start
Ongoing participation in ABEM Maintenance of Certification

Job Responsibility

Help launch a new Emergency Medicine Residency
Combine leadership of the residency program with clinical practice
Serve as the founding leader responsible for building the Emergency Medicine residency program from the ground up, including its design, structure, and strategic direction
Development of the curriculum
Recruitment of faculty and residents
Establishment of program infrastructure
Oversight of all operational and administrative functions
Lead ACGME accreditation efforts, including program application, site visit preparation, and ongoing compliance
Integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practice and hospital clinical services
