Job Responsibility

  • perform initial registration for all patients entering the Emergency Department
  • monitor cardiac rhythms for patients of all ages
  • perform a variety of clerical duties to assist with the organization and function of the department
  • perform a variety of technical skills and procedures to assist the nurse with the delivery of nursing care
  • interact with all members of the hospital staff, medical staff, patients, family, significant others, and community agencies in providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages
  • perform essential technical and administrative duties within the Emergency Department, ensuring efficient patient flow and supporting high-quality nursing care across all age groups
  • demonstrate exceptional proficiency in patient registration, cardiac rhythm monitoring, and a variety of technical skills
  • engage with diverse stakeholders and exemplify core values to contribute to comprehensive patient care and departmental efficiency
  • demonstrate ability to assess/interpret age-specific data
  • encourage involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care
  • maintain a safe patient environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a pre-hospital Emergency Technician, EMT in a hospital or Paramedic
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA
  • AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
