Job Responsibility:

  • Completes skills check in a timely manner with accuracy
  • Maintains clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served
  • Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job
  • Will share information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Successful completion of an accredited AEMT training program required
  • Current applicable state AEMT certification required
  • SC AEMT and National Registry AEMT certifications preferred at time of hire
  • SC AEMT and National Registry AEMT required within 90 days of hire and required to be maintained throughout employment
  • BCLS and ACLS required
  • PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E. and NRP preferred
  • required within 90 days of hire
  • Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Current driver's license (prefer applicable state/SC) with no more than 6 points on license required
  • Must have had driver's license for a minimum of 2 years
  • Advocate Health approved driving course to be completed within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment required
  • One-year active field pre-hospital experience required
  • Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and qualify as insurable by Advocate Health insurance carrier requirements for driving MedCenter Air vehicles
  • Must have an operational smartphone for use as communication device related to MedCenter Air operations
  • Good physical stamina and endurance necessary to perform duties
  • Employee must maintain fitness standards in accordance with policy
  • Must have intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch with good finger dexterity
  • Good motor skills and eye/hand coordination required
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include, but not limited to, speaking proper English in understandable terms
