Job Title: Emergency Accommodation Officer North London £26.57 per hour (Umbrella) 3-month ongoing contract Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm (35 hours) Overview We are currently recruiting for an Emergency Accommodation Officer to join a Local Authority team in North London. This is a vital frontline role supporting residents within temporary and emergency accommodation, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-managed environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support residents with sign-up of Licence Agreements and Housing Benefit forms
  • Liaise closely with Housing Case Workers and internal teams
  • Report repairs, incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns promptly
  • Ensure residents adhere to the terms of their Licence Agreements
  • Supervise cleaning staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • Monitor and enforce Health & Safety compliance across the building
  • Act as a point of contact for residents, providing guidance and support
  • Escalate issues to relevant authorities where necessary

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills with a patient and empathetic approach
  • Experience working within housing, homelessness, or supported accommodation
  • Good knowledge of Housing Benefit and tenancy/licence agreements
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and support vulnerable residents
  • Confident in reporting and escalating issues appropriately
