Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and commercially aware Capex Delivery Manager to support the successful delivery of a significant EMEA-wide capital investment programme across our Packaging division. This is not a traditional project management role. Instead, you will operate as a senior engineering and delivery leader-providing governance, assurance, and oversight across multiple capital projects. You will work closely with regional teams, ensuring projects are well-defined, effectively executed, delivered on time, within budget and deliver the required outcomes. You will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of the 80:20 capital programme and other complex, high value projects (£2m+), while giving senior leadership confidence that projects are robust, controlled, and set up for success.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Group Capex project delivery support across EMEA packaging sub-regions
  • Oversee a portfolio of medium to complex capital projects (circa £200m total value)
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed timelines, budgets, and business objectives
  • Identify delivery risks early and work with project teams to mitigate them
  • Provide engineering and technical assurance across the full project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects meet Group Capex governance standards and gateway requirements
  • Lead and support Project Engineering Gate Reviews
  • Drive consistency in planning, cost control, and performance tracking across the portfolio
  • Act as a key interface between regional project teams, business unit leaders, and EMEA senior leadership
  • Build strong relationships across engineering, operations, and finance teams
  • Provide assurance to senior leadership on project viability and delivery confidence
  • Enhance the effectiveness and consistency of capital project execution across the region

Requirements

  • Experienced in capital project environments
  • Professional qualification desirable (e.g., MAPM, Chartered Engineer or equivalent)
  • Strong background in engineering and project delivery (manufacturing or industrial setting preferred)
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with large-scale capital programmes
  • Exposure to governance frameworks, stage-gate processes, and project assurance
  • Strong understanding of project and programme delivery principles
  • Ability to assess project health across scope, cost, schedule, and risk
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple levels
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, risk, and value
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Willingness to travel across Europe as required

What we offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Qualifying Sick Pay scheme
  • Pension scheme & Life insurance
  • Share Save scheme
  • Income Protection
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Virtual GP, Occupational Health & free Flu vaccine
  • Cycle to Work and shopping discounts
