Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an experienced EME (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics) on‑site Technical Designer (Mid-Level or Senior) to support 787 design and production at Boeing South Carolina (BSC) located in North Charleston, South Carolina. In this hands‑on role you will resolve design and production issues on the factory floor, coordinate engineering changes and dispositions, and partner with EME SMEs and suppliers to keep build and delivery schedules on track.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the on‑site EME technical focal supporting 787 production and design at BSC
act as the primary EME point of contact for production issues and customer requests
Manage MRB production and build‑partner support: coordinate with technical SMEs, Lead Engineers, and Supplier Management to develop, track, and close EME dispositions with schedule impact in mind
Create and refine standard work packages and support execution of line efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate design engineering activity: track engineering change requests, change impact assessments, certification deliverables, expedited MMD requests, maintenance program inputs, and related coordination across EME teams in Everett, Brazil, SoCal, FL, and OKC
Provide practical, producible design input on the floor to minimize rework and maintain delivery commitments
Communicate technical status and recommended actions to production, engineering, suppliers, and customer support organizations
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Systems, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Aeronautical engineering, or related field
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills
1+ years hands‑on experience in a production or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with engineering value streams and design/configuration tools such as Enovia, CATIA, and IVT
Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrently moving actions, and engage cross‑functional, geographically distributed teams

Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (~2–6 times/year)
