Job Description

We’re supporting a leading name in rotary-wing aircraft company who are looking to bring in an E3 / EMC Engineer to support a range of current and future helicopter programmes. This is a full lifecycle role, giving you exposure from early-stage design through to testing, certification, and in-service support across multiple platforms (including conventional helicopters, tiltrotors, and UAS).

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting design and integration of electrical/electronic systems with EMC considerations
  • Planning and executing EMC / E3 verification and testing (lab, ground, and flight trials)
  • Producing compliance documentation (test plans, reports, analysis, certification evidence)
  • Supporting qualification and certification activities
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams (systems, avionics, safety, mechanical)
  • Investigating and resolving EM-related issues across the product lifecycle

Requirements

  • Experience in E3 / EMC engineering within aerospace or other safety-critical industries
  • Strong understanding of areas such as: EMC
  • HIRF / Lightning Effects
  • EMP / Environmental effects
  • Experience supporting design, development, and verification activities
  • Ability to produce and review technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills across engineering teams

Nice to have

  • Aerospace background (rotary-wing highly beneficial)
  • Experience working with certification bodies such as: EASA
  • FAA
  • Knowledge of standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-461, DEF STAN 59-411
  • Exposure to systems engineering lifecycle and tools (e.g. DOORS)
  • Experience with EM simulation tools
