In this role, you will contribute to the development of Malvern Panalytical’s X-ray products used in scientific and industrial materials analysis. You will work on the architecture, design, coding, and automated testing of our instrument control (firmware) platform.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver innovative floor-standing XRF products
Develop, implement, and maintain firmware for these systems
Work in a multidisciplinary team with embedded software, system, mechanical, and electronics engineers
Design and implement new features, perform testing, and support test automation
Ensure robust, accurate, reliable, and maintainable software design
Keep up-to-date with relevant software technologies and share knowledge within Malvern Panalytical
Work hands-on with X-ray systems and solve software-related product challenges
Requirements:
Strong focus on delivering high-quality customer products

Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for solving complex problems across multiple domains
Experience with Agile development
Experience with real-time embedded software
Familiarity with software testing methodologies
Fluent in English
Willingness to learn Dutch
Nice to have:
A BSc in Computer science or a related field, and experience with technical automation
Experience with ANSI C, C#, agile methodologies, and test-driven development
Strong understanding of software principles such as Clean Code and SOLID
