Job Description:

Do you want to play a key role in developing instrument control software for our floor-standing XRF products? Are you looking for a diverse engineering position where you can fully apply and expand your expertise? And would you like to do this within a high-tech, international, but very personal environment? If so, this is your opportunity to join our ambitious XRF floor-standing systems team! In this role, you will contribute to the development of Malvern Panalytical’s X-ray products used in scientific and industrial materials analysis. You will work on the architecture, design, coding, and automated testing of our instrument control (firmware) platform.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver innovative floor-standing XRF products
  • Develop, implement, and maintain firmware for these systems
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team with embedded software, system, mechanical, and electronics engineers
  • Design and implement new features, perform testing, and support test automation
  • Ensure robust, accurate, reliable, and maintainable software design
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant software technologies and share knowledge within Malvern Panalytical
  • Work hands-on with X-ray systems and solve software-related product challenges

Requirements:

  • Strong focus on delivering high-quality customer products
  • Ability to think like an end user with attention to safety, performance, usability, robustness, and speed
  • A desire to work in a high-tech environment and contribute to competitive, cutting-edge products
  • Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for solving complex problems across multiple domains

Nice to have:

  • A BSc in Computer science or a related field, and experience with technical automation
  • Experience with ANSI C, C#, agile methodologies, and test-driven development
  • Strong understanding of software principles such as Clean Code and SOLID
