Job Description:

The Eligibility Specialist is responsible for administering and applying Title IV-E federal eligibility requirements for children placed in out-of-home care settings. This role supports compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations by completing accurate and timely eligibility determinations and maintaining required documentation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Complete timely Initial and Six-Month Title IV-E eligibility recommendations in compliance with federal, state, and tribal specifications
  • Request, track, and follow up on missing or additional documentation from counties and tribal agencies
  • Maintain accurate electronic IV-E eligibility files, including court orders, eligibility forms, financial documentation, and supporting records
  • Analyze data from multiple systems to determine compliance with federal and state Title IV-E requirements
  • Enter eligibility information into the State eWiSACWIS reporting system
  • Provide professional customer service to State and county agencies via phone and email
  • Assist with Adoption Assistance and Subsidized Guardianship Title IV-E recommendations
  • Support additional IV-E-related projects and initiatives as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to evolving policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, public officials, and external agencies
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings as required
