Darwin Recruitment are hiring for an Electronics Technician for a business in Paris.
Job Responsibility:
Define and maintain procedures and work instructions for board repair, wiring, and potting
Standardize workshop practices and contribute to the selection of tools and equipment
Analyze quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
Provide DFM/DFR input during design reviews and support industrialization efforts
Diagnose faults on PCB boards using measurement tools (multimeter, oscilloscope)
Replace defective components (SMD, through-hole, connectors, integrated circuits) and perform fine soldering in compliance with IPC-A-610 standards and ESD procedures
Clean, inspect, and validate boards post-intervention
Manufacture, modify, or repair cable harnesses and wiring assemblies based on schematics and wiring diagrams
Crimp, solder, and connect terminals and wires while adhering to color codes and applicable standards
Ensure mechanical and electrical quality (insulation, EMC protection, vibration resistance)
Verify electrical continuity, absence of short circuits, and compliance of assemblies
Prepare components and boards for encapsulation (cleaning, protecting sensitive areas)
Apply potting resins (epoxy, silicone, polyurethane) according to defined procedures
Ensure encapsulation quality: no bubbles, proper adhesion, and correct polymerization
Contribute to the continuous improvement of potting processes
Document field feedback to continuously improve methods, procedures, and electronic processes
Maintain traceability: intervention reports, non-conformities, updates to methods, and special processes (potting, complex repairs)
Perform functional tests and compliance checks on equipment post-intervention
Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards (ISO 9001, IPC, ECSS, ESD) and participate in quality audits as the electronics methods expert
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Digital Systems, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in board repair, wiring, or potting
Experience in a high-demand environment (space, aeronautics, defense, industrial electronics) is highly valued
Experience or strong interest in electronics methods, industrialization, and continuous improvement, with an understanding of quality, repeatability, and industrial robustness
Solid expertise in electronic assembly and repair: manual soldering (iron, hot air, including high voltage), reading schematics and wiring diagrams
Proficiency in testing and diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope) and potting processes and associated resins
Rigorous knowledge and application of quality standards (IPC-A-610, ECSS, ISO 9001, ESD rules), with the ability to work at the interface of Engineering/Production/Quality
